Why must I provide my Social Security number to create an account with ERFCDirect?
|
ERFC requests the last four digits of your Social Security number and matches it, in combination with other information from your ERFC records, to verify your identity. ERFC takes every measure to ensure our members’ privacy and security with all of our services.

What should I do if I forget my username or password?
|
Click on the "Forgot your password" or “Forgot your username” links displayed on the ERFCDirect log-in page. Follow the instructions to retrieve your username or create a new password. Please Note: Passwords are encrypted to protect our members’ privacy. ERFC personnel do not have access to this information, and cannot provide any personal data by telephone, fax or email.
You can also call ERFC at 703-426-3900 or toll free at 1-844-758-3793 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or email ERFC at ERFCOffice@fcps.edu to request a password reset.

What is the purpose of the ‘challenge question’ and ‘challenge question answer’ features?
|
The ‘challenge question’ and ‘challenge question answer’ features provide an additional level of security when you forget your username or password. ERFC personnel do not have access to your challenge question information.

What should I do if I forget my ‘challenge question’ or the answer to my ‘challenge question?’
|
You can establish a new challenge question and /or answer by selecting the “Profile” link listed under “User” in the left column menu. Verify your password, enter your new question/answer, and click the "Update" button.

Where can I find forms and publications, and other general information about the ERFC system and its benefit provisions?

ERFC system announcements and information ? including newsletters, the Plan Document and Regulations, and other downloadable publications and forms -- are provided on the ERFC web site at: http://www.fcps.edu/ERFC.

What are the technical or computer browser requirements for using ERFCDirect?
|
Internet Explorer
ERFCDirect is designed for use with Internet Explorer 11.0 on a Microsoft Windows platform. Using an earlier version of Internet Explorer may reduce the site’s functionality. To verify which Microsoft Internet Explorer browser version you’re currently using, follow these easy steps:
- Click on Help in your computer browser’s menu bar at the top of the screen
- Scroll down to About Internet Explorer
- Your browser version will be displayed on the top line of the resulting window display
Other Browsers
ERFCDirect has been tested and is known to be compatible with Mozilla Firefox version 49 and Google Chrome version 55.Although not optimal, other browsers may provide working functionality with ERFCDirect. In general however, ERFC recommends the newest versions of either Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome for use with ERFCDirect.
Important notice about using e-mail: Do not send confidential or personal information, such as a Social Security number, via e-mail. This communication is not secure. To protect the privacy of our members, ERFC will send only non-confidential replies.

How can I find my FCPS Employee ID Number or ERFCDirect PIN to establish an account?
|
If you are an active employee, you can find your FCPS Employee ID number on your monthly pay statement or go to UConnect on the FCPS Intranet to find your Employee ID number under the “My Job” menu listing.
If you are an inactive /deferred/retired ERFC member and you do not have, or cannot recall, your FCPS Employee ID number, contact the ERFC office and an ERFCDirect PIN code will be mailed to you. The ERFC Call Center is available to assist you during weekday business hours, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Call: 703-426-3900 or toll free: 1-844-758-3793, or send an email to ERFCDirect@fcps.edu.
